Welcome to the St Columba’s PS website, which aims to give you a taster of what life is like in our school for prospective parents considering our school for their child(ren).  It also aims to provide up-to-date information for our current pupils, parents and wider community.  We hope you enjoy your visit and that you manage to capture a little piece of the ethos that fills our corridors and classrooms each and every day, and a flavour of what makes our school an extremely happy and fun place to learn and work. 

 

A brief overview of our school:

• High expectations of all ensuring high educational outcomes, all achieved within an atmosphere of fun, friendship and sense of community.
• An experienced and committed staff who are dedicated to delivering high quality learning experiences for the children tailored to their needs, to ensure each child is seen as special and unique and that each reaches their fullest potential.
• Each class has a teacher and classroom assistant to ensure the needs of every child are fully met.
• Early morning starts from 8.10am onwards to allow parents to get ahead of the heavy morning traffic on their way to work.
• A high number of after school clubs to enhance the learning experiences of all our pupils and again support parents in their working life.
• Bright spacious well equipped learning areas that support and extend learning and development across the school.
• Fantastic outdoor spaces including gardening area, quiet spaces, football pitch, 2 playgrounds, play trail, outdoor classroom, story teller ring and much more.

As a Catholic Primary School we welcome children from all, or no, faith backgrounds and aim to ensure that all of our children grow and develop to their full potential.  We would encourage prospective parents to arrange a visit to our school should you wish to come along and meet us first hand and we are always available to show you around to see our fantastic school in operation.
